Leeds United moved another step towards Premier League survival with a professional 3-0 home win over bottom club Wolves, who could be relegated this weekend, going nine points clear for now.
James Justin lit up Elland Road with an acrobatic overhead kick inside 18 minutes, then Noah Okafor struck his fifth goal in as many Premier League games as Leeds scored twice in three minutes. According to Leeds Live, the player ratings reflect a composed, controlled display.
United still had anxious moments, with Wolves scrambling efforts towards goal and Dominic Calvert-Lewin clearing off the line again.
A subdued second half was interrupted when the fourth official pulled a calf muscle and was replaced by fourth official Lewis Smith. Play-off final heartbreaker of two years ago Adam Armstrong later chipped over Karl Darlow but was ruled offside.
Calvert-Lewin sealed it from the spot in added time after Wilfried Gnonto’s fine pass earned the penalty.
Ratings: Karl Darlow eight, Jayden Bogle seven, James Justin eight, Jaka Bijol seven, Pascal Strujik eight, Gabriel Gudmundsson seven, Ethan Ampadu seven, Ao Tanaka eight, Brenden Aaronson seven, Noah Okafor eight, Dominic Calvert-Lewin eight. Subs: Wilfried Gnonto six, Ilia Gruev five, Joe Rodon N/A, Sean Longstaff N/A, Lukas Nmecha N/A. Manager Daniel Farke seven.
