Leeds United have reached an agreement with AC Milan to sign Switzerland international Noah Okafor on a permanent deal worth around €21 million including bonuses.

The 25-year-old has also agreed personal terms and is expected to sign a four-year contract with an option for a further season once the final paperwork is completed.

Okafor joined Milan from RB Salzburg for €15m in 2023 but struggled to establish himself as a regular starter.

He made 29 Serie A appearances in his first season but started only six times, scoring six goals and registering two assists.

A loan move to Napoli in January gave him more exposure, and he contributed to their title-winning campaign before returning to Milan in the summer.

Leeds have moved quickly to secure his services as part of an ambitious recruitment drive following promotion back to the Premier League.

Manager Daniel Farke has played a central role in pushing for the deal. He views Okafor as a player who can immediately strengthen his attacking options.

The forward is expected to undergo a medical in the coming days before being unveiled.

Okafor has attracted interest from other European clubs, but Leeds’ determination and the offer of a prominent role proved decisive.

The player’s past fitness issues were considered during negotiations, and Leeds’ medical team will provide the final clearance before the deal is finalised.

The transfer generates a modest profit for Milan while freeing up space in their squad.

The Swiss international, who has earned 24 caps for his country and featured in the Champions League, offers Leeds valuable versatility across the front line.

His pace, movement and ability to play in multiple attacking roles are qualities that Farke believes will be crucial in ensuring Leeds compete effectively in the top flight.

Okafor is set to be announced as a Leeds player before the end of the week, underlining the club’s intent to build a squad capable of competing in the Premier League.
