Leeds United’s Premier League rivals and opening-weekend opponents Nottingham Forest have named Oliver Glasner as head coach. The club said in a statement that the appointment was confirmed on Monday morning.

Forest endured a turbulent 2025-26, using four managers across the campaign in Nuno Espirito Santo, Ange Postecoglou, Sean Dyche and, most recently, Vitor Pereira.

Pereira arrived in February after Dyche was dismissed and steered Forest to 16th, five points clear of the drop and two behind Leeds. Last week, Forest triggered a mutual termination clause in his contract, clearing the way for another change.

Glasner is one of only three head coaches to have won both the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Conference League. He also led VfL Wolfsburg to UEFA Champions League qualification and guided Eintracht Frankfurt to the 2021/22 Europa League title.

Most recently at Crystal Palace, he won the 2024/25 FA Cup in his first full Premier League season, followed by the FA Community Shield, and then lifted the UEFA Conference League the following season. Forest highlighted his reputation for developing players, building ambitious attacking teams and delivering success.
