Leeds United are reported to be sending scouts to Arsenal's pre-season friendly with Real Betis in Dublin on Wednesday night to assess Betis midfielder Nelson Deossa. According to Mundo Betis, several clubs will have scouts present, with the Colombian attracting Premier League attention.

Leeds, Ipswich Town, Hull City, Wolves and West Ham are among those tracking the 25-year-old. Betis are said to want to recoup the £9.5m paid to Monterrey last summer after a difficult debut campaign. Sky Sports reports Leeds are planning five more additions this summer.

Monterrey reportedly hold a 15 per cent sell-on clause, and Betis were close to a sale earlier in the window. Brazilian side Vasco da Gama were linked, but a return to South America did not happen as the player paused talks to explore interest in England.

Manuel Pellegrini has used Deossa as a striker in pre-season, where he has scored twice, although he is a midfielder by trade.

Leeds have already signed Harry Wilson and Tarik Muharemovic and are closing in on James Trafford from Manchester City.

After Trafford’s arrival, another backup goalkeeper is sought, while a striker, a winger, another full-back and a central midfielder are also being targeted.
