Leeds United’s Gabi Gudmundsson has eased fitness fears after a knee scare with Sweden, posting a four-word message ahead of Tuesday’s World Cup play-off final against Poland. The player wrote: "See you on Tuesday."

Sweden finished bottom of their qualifying group but advanced to the play-offs thanks to their Nations League ranking. Gudmundsson started Thursday night’s 3-1 win over Ukraine, earning his 22nd cap.

The left-back took a knock to his knee in the second half, tried to continue, then was substituted.

After the match he had an ice pack on the knee.

The 26-year-old has been among United’s standout performers since joining from Lille last summer and is targeting a World Cup place with Sweden.
