According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Anton Stach was forced off injured in the first half of Leeds United’s FA Cup tie at West Ham. The midfielder went down after a heavy challenge and could not continue.

Leeds were ahead at the time, Ao Tanaka finishing a slick move with a deflected effort on 26 minutes as the midfield controlled proceedings.

Stach had been released by Noah Okafor on a counter-attack and saw his shot saved by Alphonse Areola. Max Kilman stretched to block and went through him, with the German’s right ankle appearing to roll. He received treatment and hobbled around the pitch.

He briefly tried to resume but Brenden Aaronson was already preparing to come on. The American replaced him moments later.

Stach had been a pre-match doubt after reporting a hip issue in training. The 27-year-old returned from Germany duty with reduced minutes, coming off the bench once against Switzerland. Leeds were also without Gabriel Gudmundsson and Daniel James, the latter expected to miss a couple of weeks with an adductor strain, while Gudmundsson was not risked due to a minor groin issue.
