Leeds United could pursue legal action against Leicester City after last week's Everton damages ruling, The Times reports.
Leicester won the 2023/24 Championship under Enzo Maresca, with Daniel Farke's Leeds falling short despite 90 points before losing the play-off final to Southampton.
In February, the EFL docked Leicester six points for Profitability and Sustainability Rules breaches across the three years up to 2023/24, a deduction that later contributed to their relegation to League One.
Leeds previously reached an out-of-court settlement with Everton after finishing a place below them in 2021/22, the season in which the Toffees were later charged over PSR. Burnley, relegated that year, continued legal routes and, last week, a Premier League commission ordered Everton to pay over £35million in damages to the Clarets, ruling the breach materially impacted their survival chances.
Any Leeds move via the Premier League’s independent disciplinary commission would need to show, on the balance of probabilities, that Leicester’s breach affected their promotion hopes. Leicester finished seven points above Farke’s side and lost both meetings that season. Leeds are weighing up whether to proceed.
