Leeds United 'to consider signing' World Cup quarter-finalist Azzedine Ounahi | OneFootball

Alan Smith has urged Leeds United to consider signing Morocco midfielder Azzedine Ounahi after his World Cup displays, in comments to BestBettingSites.co.uk.

"He looks good. Those two goals he got against Canada, really good goals. He looks an exciting player."

Smith pointed to the player’s relegation with Girona as a reason he could be available at a cut price, and warned that World Cup form does not always carry over.

The 26-year-old helped Morocco reach the quarter-finals this summer. He is currently with Girona and has also played for Panathinaikos and Marseille.

He is expected to move this summer after the club’s relegation from Serie A. Bologna and Fiorentina have also been linked.

English clubs are showing interest in a potential bargain. Leeds have made an approach for Southampton’s Shea Charles and remain active in midfield after signing Harry Wilson on a free.

Ounahi has been loosely linked among Leeds’ targets and was heavily connected with Elland Road three years ago.
