Leeds United are assessing summer striker options, and an injury to Patrick Agyemang could alter their approach, while Troy Parrott is being monitored.
According to CaughtOffside, Leeds have identified former Tottenham forward Troy Parrott as a possible summer target. The AZ Alkmaar striker has 14 goals in 24 Eredivisie matches this season, plus 14 in 18 other games including the UEFA Conference League.
Parrott continues to be linked with a Premier League return. Leeds are four points above the drop, with Tottenham and Nottingham Forest below them. They head to Manchester United at Old Trafford on Monday, 13 April, buoyed by a penalty shootout win over West Ham that secured an FA Cup semi-final on Sunday.
Leeds have also been linked with Derby County striker Patrick Agyemang, although any move may be paused after he was carried off on a stretcher just before half-time of Derby’s 2-0 win over Stoke City on Monday with a suspected Achilles problem. The American has 10 goals in 36 Championship appearances this season.
Derby boss John Eustace said they would have to wait for scan results and could not comment further until they were known, adding that nobody wants to see a player leave on a stretcher.
Leeds will monitor any updates and could reconsider an approach if the lay-off is lengthy. They want summer signings ready for the start of the new season.
