Leeds United have accelerated their summer plans, with targets progressing and new contracts under discussion.
According to Leeds Live, Harry Wilson could be first in, with Julian Brandt pursued and talks under way for Shea Charles. Karl Darlow, Sam Byram and Alex Cairns are in negotiations, with a breakthrough reported on Cairns.
There is every chance Pascal Struijk stays, though he has one year left. If no renewal arrives before deadline day and a compelling offer appears, Leeds may cash in rather than risk a free exit next summer.
The new Squad Cost Ratio allows up to 85% of revenue on squad costs, or 70% for clubs in Europe. Profit and Sustainability Rules still apply until the end of this month and Leeds will be fine, with SCR checked in October and assessed in March for penalties in the same season, potentially sporting above 115%.
Leeds remain in talks with Darlow amid outside interest mainly as a number two. Role promises are key, with Lukas Hornicek only on the radar and Lucas Perri potentially third choice if Darlow stays, though any sale is complicated by his 2029 deal and fee.
Wilfried Gnonto was unsettled by three league starts and is not a wing-back, nor viewed by Farke as a wide 10. Freiburg have enquired but he may wait, and Wilson’s impending arrival could push him down the order. Paraag Marathe has said there will be sales and he may be among them.
Leeds are still exploring Brandt, who becomes a free agent next week and, with 48 German caps, would be a coup. Landing him looks tougher than Wilson, who agreed to join last summer before Fulham pulled the plug, with competition likely strongest abroad, including from Italy.
