Leeds United’s Brentford date moved as Elland Road game to clash with Leeds Festival | OneFootball

Leeds United’s first home game of 2026/27 has been moved to 2pm on Sunday, 30 August, meaning Brentford’s visit will now fall on the August Bank Holiday weekend alongside Leeds Festival. After selection for live television, the club’s opening two Elland Road fixtures have been rescheduled.

West Yorkshire Police said it is experienced in managing large events and has coordinated plans for the busy weekend, which also includes the Leeds West Indian Carnival and the festival at Bramham Park from Thursday, 27 August to Sunday, 30 August.

The Brentford match, originally set for Saturday, 29 August, will be shown live on Sky Sports at the same time as Chelsea against Brighton and Sunderland against Fulham.

Leeds’ meeting with Newcastle United will now kick off at 8pm on Monday, 14 September, although the date and time could yet change again.

Significant traffic delays are expected across the Bank Holiday as thousands travel to and from Bramham Park, particularly on the A1(M) and A64.
