Leeds United extended their Premier League unbeaten run with a 1-1 draw at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and have not lost away in the league since January. Unbeaten since the start of March, they were short of their usual fluency in possession yet still dug out a point and celebrated safety with the travelling support.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Jaka Bijol devoured Spurs’ crosses and used the ball cleanly. Ethan Ampadu set the tone, won the penalty and drove his team through a spiky night.

For Daniel Farke it was a fitting moment with the fans after safety had been clinched on a non-matchday. He has secured top-flight status with games to spare. Archie Gray, however, stayed on the bench against the club he supported growing up.

Referee Jarred Gillett drew ire when a high boot from Mathys Tel left Ampadu down with an apparent head injury and play continued before a VAR check. Complaints also centred on stoppages and leniency in challenges.

Around the action, Michael Bridges greeted players and Ampadu fired up the starters in the warm-up, while the away end roared through the final sprints. Inside four minutes Farke was quizzing the fourth official.

At half-time fitness coach Chris Domogalla spoke with Sam Byram, Sebastiaan Bornauw and Willy Gnonto. During the penalty review Ampadu and Richarlison sparred verbally as the referee watched the monitor, James Justin signalled it should be a spot-kick and home fans barracked the Leeds captain.

Afterwards Ampadu, welt still vivid, ribbed Joe Rodon for pinching his number 4 crested flip flops en route to the mixed zone.
