Leeds United resume their survival bid on Friday night when already relegated Burnley visit Elland Road, a match that could all but seal safety with a win. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, four players are ruled out and four more are doubts across the two squads, while two Leeds men have returned.

Leeds were beaten 1-0 by Chelsea at Wembley in Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final. Burnley’s fate was sealed on Wednesday after a 1-0 home defeat to Manchester City, Erling Haaland scoring the only goal, and Leeds are 15th, six points above the drop with four to play.

Midfielder Anton Stach is back sooner than anticipated after an ankle ligament injury in the FA Cup quarter-final at West Ham. He made the bench against Chelsea and impressed after coming on at half-time, though he is regarded as ready for only 45 minutes at present. Defender Sebastiaan Bornauw rolled his ankle in the warm-up before Bournemouth last week but was fit enough for the Wembley bench and remained unused.

Burnley are without Josh Cullen after the midfielder sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury against Everton in December, with a lay-off of around nine months outlined at the time. Centre-back Jordan Beyer remains a long-term absentee, having suffered a meniscus injury against Luton in October 2023, then a hamstring setback last summer while building back during a behind-closed-doors game with Fleetwood.

Connor Roberts, a former Leeds loanee, has been sidelined all season with an Achilles problem and remains unavailable. Leeds midfielder Ilia Gruev has been ruled out for the rest of the campaign after a meniscus injury in training before last week’s trip to Bournemouth.
