Former Juventus striker David Trezeguet feels that Inter Milan and Napoli are “the teams to beat” in the Serie A title race.

The legendary former French international gave his views on the title race in today’s print edition of the Quotidiano di Lecce, via FCInterNews.

Last season, Inter and Napoli finished just one point apart at the top of the Serie A table.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri and the Partenopei have certainly gone into this campaign among the favourites.

Inter blew Torino away 5-0 in their opening match. However, they fell to a surprise defeat against Udinese in their second fixture of the season.

Meanwhile, Napoli beat Sassuolo 2-0 in their opener. Then, they scraped a 1-0 win over Cagliari with a last minute winner heading into the international break.

Then, Juventus, like Napoli, have won both their two opening matches. As have Roma.

On the other hand, Atalanta have drawn both their two opening fixtures. Then AC Milan have one loss and one win, like Inter.

Trezeguet: “Inter & Napoli The Teams To Beat” In Serie A Title Race

Former Juventus striker David Trezeguet gave his thoughts on the title race.

“I think everyone knows that both Napoli and Inter have proven over the last few years that they’re the teams to beat,” he said.

“For Juventus, though, it will be a test,” continued the Frenchman.

“They’ve started well, with two wins from as many matches. But they’ll have to keep confirming that through the season.”

Trezeguet argued that “we’ll have to wait and see how things play out down the line.”

“But I think they’ll have a chance to have their say in the title race,” the ex-Bianconeri striker predicted of his former team.

“The reality of the situation,” he added, “is that sooner or latter, Juventus must improve and get back to winning ways.”
