Leicester are ahead of Arsenal, Spurs, Villa and Forest where it counts

Leicester City are in the undesirable Premier League basement at present, with only a small chance of survival. 2024/25 has been a cruel season for the Foxes whose fans have had little to be excited about. Since Enzo Maresca left for Chelsea, the east Midlands side has regressed.

In spite of raised expectations and being reinstated to the English top flight, the campaign hasn't gone well at all. LCFC sacked unsuited former manager Steve Cooper, even though he never should have been appointed. Now Ruud van Nistelrooy is at the helm on Filbert Way. He has a tremendously tough task to complete.

While the Blue Army seems to have taken to the ex-Manchester United star, he is rather unproven in the long-term. The jury's out on the Dutchman and his capacity at the moment. Van Nistelrooy might have to rebuild from the Championship. As we saw with Maresca, that feat can certainly be achieved and ascend a career.

Though it hasn't all been doom and gloom at Leicester in the past decade or so. To be fair, us Foxes fans have been somewhat spoiled during the Srivaddhanaprabha era at King Power Stadium. Even if we are relegated, LCFC will rise again! And we have technically done better than many huge clubs in contemporary times, along with bettering some formerly big outfits.

So where do City stand where it matters? Which big six teams have underperformed comparatively? And in which area are the east Midlands side ahead of Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa as well as Nottingham Forest?

When Premier League clubs last lifted a trophy - if ever

In May, it'll already be four years since Youri Tielemans' rocket won City a maiden FA Cup title. But it's actually been five years since the Gunners won anything.

17 seasons have gone by without any silverware for Spurs. Villa have been trophy-less for 29 years. You have to go back to 1990 for a Forest triumph.
