The Foxes play host to The Cityzens at The King Power Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Leicester City go into the game as huge underdogs but manager Passmoor says that the prospect of playing a top opponent will excite and empower him and his players.
“I’m very positive,” Passmoor said. “I’m very excited to be playing WSL football down at The King Power. When you’re playing against a good team with good individuals, it should empower you as an individual to be as competitive as you possibly can.
“The players have been away on international duty, so it’s about how we come back; ensuring that the players’ mindset is straightaway on Leicester City and the Manchester City game.
“We are working on out of possession, in-possession, so that we make sure that we give the players the best possible game plan for them to achieve and represent Leicester City come Sunday afternoon.”
Manchester City are the league’s top scorers with 23 goals and Passmoor has been impressed with what opposite number Andrée Jeglertz has achieved in a short period of time at The Joie Stadium.
He said “When you look at the time that they’ve been together, how they’ve got a game plan both in-possession and out of possession [has been impressive]. How he has tinkered with a benchmark over previous seasons for how many times they are creating opportunities from regains, particularly in the high press, that’s really developed for them.
“They’ve gone under the radar. People have been talking about other clubs but they’ve moved forward, developed and delivered and now, they’re in a good position. That’s obviously part of their current and long-term strategy; to have Manchester City at the top of the WSL.
“They are leading the league and I’m just really excited for us to show ourselves in our best identity. Plaudits to City but we are looking after Leicester City and we have to make sure that we are ready for the game come 12 o’clock on Sunday.”
Leicester City have picked up six points from an available 27 so far. Passmoor says that developing a Leicester City identity will help with boosting points return.
He said “When you look at September, we know that it wasn’t the greatest of pre-seasons in terms of gaining ground. The players deserve a massive pat on the back for their development and their progression.
“What we need to do is show a real identity of Leicester City and if we achieve that, we will look forward to gaining points and striding forward in the right direction. It might be small steps at the moment but that’s what we are looking for.
“For momentum, the mentality is to gain some points from these two games before the Christmas break.”
