Leicester City confirm fifth summer signing as Tommy Watson arrives on loan | OneFootball

Leicester City have confirmed their fifth summer signing, with Tommy Watson joining on loan from Brighton.

The 20-year-old winger spent the second half of last season at Millwall. He joined Brighton on a permanent basis last summer after helping Sunderland reach the Premier League. Watson said on the club’s official website that he is delighted to be at Leicester, wants to bring energy and make a real contribution, and is eager to play at King Power Stadium.

He is at King Power Stadium for this evening’s friendly with Genoa, but he is not in the squad.

He is set to make his debut in the Carabao Cup first round against Northampton Town next Saturday.

Watson follows Liam Cullen in strengthening Russell Martin’s squad this week, the Wales forward arriving from Swansea City and having previously worked with the City boss there.

Conor Chaplin, Alex McCarthy and Christian McFarlane have also signed this summer, with Chaplin and McCarthy nursing knocks and ruled out of the Genoa friendly.
