Leicester City are interested in signing Blackpool goalkeeper Franco Ravizzoli.

Leicester City have already shown their teeth in the transfer market this summer, and are looking to add further quality and depth to their ranks to get out of League One at the first time of asking.

The former Premier League champions suffered damaging back-to-back relegations, which saw them drop into the third tier of English football for only the second time in the club's history.

A mega rebuilding job is now underway at the King Power Stadium, with ex-MK Dons, Swansea City and Southampton boss Russell Martin tasked with getting the Foxes in fighting shape amid their financial struggles.

Good progress has already been made in the transfer window, with top earners such as Harry Winks off the wage bill, whilst quality players such as Tommy Watson and Conor Chaplin have made a move to Leicester.

It seems the 2021 FA Cup winners aren't slowing down in their moves either, as a fresh report has suggested that Martin could be set to reunite with one of his former players this summer.

Leicester have managed to raise plenty of funds through player sales this summer, with Abdul Fatawu, Bilal El Khannouss and Jeremy Monga all sold for hefty fees, which was crucial for the club amid its financial issues.

Now, the Foxes have to be far more sensible with their transfer business, signing quality players who are capable of fighting at the top end of League One, whilst not breaking the bank and risking any further financial damage down the line.

In the goalkeeping department, experienced shot stopper Alex McCarthy has already been signed, but according to journalist Alan Nixon via his Patreon page, Martin is still looking to add another keeper to his ranks.

That man is reportedly Blackpool backup Franco Ravizzoli, who the Leicester boss previously worked with at MK Dons, albeit only briefly as just a month after the stopper signed for the Buckinghamshire outfit, Martin was heading to Swansea City to become their new head coach.

The Argentinian goalkeeper played second fiddle at Bloomfield Road to Bailey Peacock-Farrell last season, and could be on the chopping block, as boss Ian Evatt looks to add another keeper to his ranks.

Ravizzoli played just eight games across all competitions for the Tangerines last season, where he kept three clean sheets and conceded nine goals.

Despite this, the 29-year-old is reportedly a target for Leicester as they look to add another pair of hands to their goalkeeping department, with a small fee expected to do the job.

Although Ravizzoli's game time has been limited over the last 12 months, the Argentine has proven to be a reliable option when called upon, particularly at League One level.

During his time at MK Dons, first choice Andy Fisher was sold to Swansea in January 2022, ahead of a massive game against bitter rivals AFC Wimbledon.

This saw Ravizzoli given his first league start for the Dons, where he kept a clean sheet, and won the praise of manager Liam Manning for his composure during the game.

The 29-year-old was also impressive for Wycombe Wanderers, as he managed to overthrow two goalkeepers in Max Stryjek and Nathan Bishop for the number one spot, before being rather unfortunately replaced by a sub-par Will Norris.

Ravizzoli played 52 times in total for the Chairboys, conceding 46 goals and keeping 20 clean sheets, playing a key part in their run which saw them sitting at the top of the League One table during the first half of the 2024/25 season.
