Leicester City make Danny Ings transfer U-turn as striker search continues | OneFootball

Leicester City’s move for Danny Ings is no longer expected to go through, and the club’s hunt for a striker continues.

The experienced forward became a target for Russell Martin a couple of weeks ago after leaving Sheffield United at the end of June. The Telegraph reported that the 33-year-old was due to sign a one-year deal.

There has been little progress since, and Ings is not now set to join. Conor Chaplin and Alex McCarthy have been confirmed as the first arrivals at the King Power Stadium.

Kirsten Otchere and Nathan Opoku have led the line in the first three pre-season friendlies, both scoring in the wins over Bristol Rovers and Burton Albion.

Lorent Tolaj was linked earlier in the summer but looks set to join Bristol City. Leyton Orient’s Dom Ballard has also been touted and was the subject of a failed offer from the Robins.

Leicester continued their 2026/27 League One build-up with a 3-0 victory at Burton on Saturday and will travel to Spain next week.
