RB Leipzig are reported to have submitted a bid of €24m to Burnley FC for Maxime Estève (24), according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

In search of defensive reinforcements to compensate for the likely departure of Castello Lukeba (23) – who is said to be on the radar of many of Europe’s top clubs – the Saxons are reportedly considering the former Montpellier HSC player as one of their top priorities. The interest appears to be mutual, and reaching an agreement with the 24-year-old is not expected to be a problem.

Having joined the Clarets in February 2024, Estève has gradually established himself as a key member of the squad. Although he started in all 36 of his appearances during the 2025–26 season, he was unable to prevent his team from being relegated to the Championship.

A former French Under-23 international (one cap), the 1.93-metre-tall defender could therefore be tempted by a new challenge in the coming weeks. Should he join Leipzig, the Montpellier-born player would be making his debut in the Bundesliga, but more importantly, he would be experiencing the Champions League, for which RBL have qualified thanks to their third-place finish in the German league.
