Leixões SC signs Beninese midfielder Dodo Dokou

Portuguese club Leixões SC officially announced on August 26 the signing of Benin international Dodo Dokou.

The 21-year-old midfielder leaves Smouha SC (Egypt) to join the Portuguese second division outfit. Regarded as one of Benin’s most promising young talents, Dokou has put pen to paper on a four-year contract.

With the Benin Cheetahs, Dodo Dokou has already earned 19 caps. In 2023, he made his mark at the U20 Africa Cup of Nations. During his stint at Smouha SC in Egypt, he racked up 80 appearances in four seasons. Now tied to Leixões for the coming years, the box-to-box midfielder embarks on a new chapter under coach João Nuno Fonseca, whose side remains unbeaten after three games (two wins and a draw).
