Lens and Hull City compete to sign Metinho | OneFootball

RC Lens and Hull City and in competition to sign FC Basel’s Metinho (23), according to a report from Sacha Tavolieri. 

The two clubs’ interest in the midfielder is becoming concrete, Tavolieri understands, as they look to anticipate the market and get ahead of competitors who could join the race. The midfielder, formerly of Fluminense, has seen his value increase in recent months.

The midfielder played 39 games in all competitions last season, including five games in the UEFA Europa League. Across all competitions, he scored four goals and registered one assist. Despite being under contract at Basel until 2030, it is looking increasingly likely that he will leave this summer as Lens and Hull City step up their attempts to complete a deal.

Les Sang et Or will be able to offer Metinho UEFA Champions League football, whilst Hull City were recently promoted to the Premier League. Developments are expected in the coming days.
