Thousands lined the streets on Saturday as Lens paraded the Coupe de France on an open-top bus, the day after their historic win.
They had beaten Nice 3-1 at the Stade de France on Friday night to lift the trophy for the first time in their history. According to L'Équipe, the first celebrations took place at Bollaert stadium in the middle of the night on their return.
On Saturday afternoon the squad toured the city on a customised bus in the colours of their triumph, passing through a jubilant crowd amid flares and songs.
Pierre Sage, completing his first season in charge at Lens, was swept along by the euphoria of the thousands present.
The procession concluded at the town hall with an official ceremony and the trophy presented to the city.
