Lens interested in Montpellier’s Becir Omeragić | OneFootball

RC Lens are interested in Montpellier defender Becir Omeragić (23), according to a report from L’Équipe.

Lens have seen their defence decimated in recent times. Kevin Danso and Abdukodir Khusanov departed in January. Facundo Medina is also expected to leave this summer, amid intense interest from Olympique de Marseille.

As a result, there will be a reconstruction in this area of the pitch this summer under new manager Pierre Sage. L’Équipe understands that the club hold an interest in Swiss international Omeragić, who will be available – and for relatively cheap – following MHSC’s relegation to Ligue 2.

Despite the club’s relegation, Omeragić finished the season with his reputation still intact. The defender has been a consistent performer for La Paillade, and has therefore previously been linked with a Premier League move.

The club are also looking for a left-back and there are advanced talks to sign Metz captain Matthieu Udol (29).
