Lens sealed a Champions League return with a 1-0 win over Nantes, and the summer reshuffle is under way. According to L'Équipe, Wesley Saïd and Adrien Thomasson are set to go.
Saïd, 31, has rejected a new deal and will join Al-Shamal this summer after his best Ligue 1 season with 10 goals.
Thomasson, 32, Ligue 1’s leading assister with 10, has declined a contract offer to seek a new challenge. The vice-captain’s departure could be confirmed soon, possibly around Wednesday’s PSG visit, with Paris FC or Rennes potential destinations.
Malang Sarr, 27, will decide only after the Coupe de France final against Nice on 22 May. Despite Saudi links he has no agreement, and Lens may struggle to keep him after anchoring Ligue 1’s best defence.
Lens have prepared in midfield with Andrija Bulatovic, 19, signed from Buducnost Podgorica for €1.7m, and Amadou Haidara, 28, added this winter for €3m. Mamadou Sangaré, 23, bought from Rapid Vienna for €5m plus €3m in add-ons last summer, is drawing major interest after a breakout season.
The club expect to keep pillars Samson Baidoo, Matthieu Udol, Odsonne Edouard and Florian Thauvin, though the market can surprise. Leca will discuss an extension with Allan Saint-Maximin, who joined on a six-month free in January, and talks are planned with Roma to keep Saud Abdulhamid, with an option around €3.5m and a buy-back clause.
