Lens reach agreement with Metz to sign Matthieu Udol | OneFootball

According to a report from Foot Mercato, Lens have reached a full agreement with Metz to sign Matthieu Udol during the summer transfer window. The 29-year-old is contracted with the Lorraine club until 2027.

Metz have made it no secret over their desire to retain the services of their captain. The club’s president was recently quoted as stating his desire for the Frenchman to stay put. Udol was decisive for Les Grenats in their Ligue 2 promotion play-offs against Reims. He scored in both matches against the Champagne club to secure their place in Ligue 1 next season with a 4-2 aggregate victory.

Udol was targeted with a potential return to Ligue 1 last season, as Saint-Étienne plotted a move for his services. However, he has now agreed to join Lens and will complete a medical with Les Sang et Or in the coming days before being officially unveiled as a new player.
