Léo Ortiz left out of Flamengo v São Paulo by Jardim, starting XI named | OneFootball

Léo Ortiz has been omitted from Flamengo's squad to face São Paulo on Sunday despite recovering from a muscle injury, a decision by head coach Leonardo Jardim.

According to Globo.com, the defender has not played since 30 May, when he injured his right thigh against Coritiba at the Maracanã. De La Cruz is also out, although he does not feature on the club's treatment list.

The side is largely unchanged from the 0-4 win at Chapecoense in the previous round. Alex Sandro and Lorran come in for Ayrton Lucas and Gonzalo Plata, and Arrascaeta starts on the bench.

Flamengo will start with Rossi, Emerson Royal, Vitão, Léo Pereira, Alex Sandro, Erick Pulgar, Jorginho, Samuel Lino, Lorran, Bruno Henrique and Pedro.

Plata was withdrawn in the first half at Chapecoense with pain in his right knee, and an MRI on Thursday 23 confirmed tendinitis. He is undergoing treatment with the club's medical department.

Lucas Paquetá is working on the pitch with the fitness staff. Luiz Araújo continues his recovery programme set by the medical department.
