Léo Pereira criticised referee Piero Maza after Flamengo's 1-1 draw at Estudiantes in the Libertadores, despite not travelling. On Instagram, he called it a disgrace that not even a yellow was shown for a heavy tackle on Bruno Henrique.

Flamengo also protested strongly about an earlier incident. In the first half, Farías scissored Emerson Royal from behind, and the Estudiantes player received only a yellow card.

After the break, Tomas Palácios went in two-footed on Bruno Henrique. Already booked, he was not sent off by Maza.

Pereira had suffered a deep cut to his left shin against Atlético-MG at Arena MRV and needed stitches, so he stayed in Rio. As a result, Leonardo Jardim chose Danilo and Vitão for the match.
