Leon Chiwome joins Colchester on season-long loan from Wolves | OneFootball

Wolves striker Leon Chiwome has joined Colchester United on a season-long loan.

Wolves technical director Matt Jackson said the move is about helping Chiwome regain his best fitness and performance levels after a tough spell, praising his professionalism and character. He views the striker’s power and pace as standout attributes and, with regular games, believes Chiwome could get back towards previous levels and become a real asset. Jackson has faith in Colchester and the Cowley brothers’ record with young loanees.

Chiwome joined Wolves’ academy four years ago and progressed through the ranks into the senior setup.

He made his senior debut in the FA Cup in 2024, then featured three times in the Premier League.

A serious knee injury followed, but he returned to Cesar Peixoto’s first-team pre-season group before linking up with League Two Colchester for the season.
