Leonardo Jardim’s preferred Flamengo duo emerges as Léo Pereira and Pedro rack up minutes | OneFootball

Leonardo Jardim has quickly settled at Flamengo, with centre-back Léo Pereira and striker Pedro his most-used outfield pairing alongside goalkeeper Rossi.

According to Coluna Do Fla, Léo Pereira has 785 minutes under Jardim, Pedro 757, indicating Pereira is rarely substituted. Jardim took charge in March and has already overseen 11 matches.

Pedro’s appearance count in 2026 has already passed half of his 2025 total. He has 22 outings in the first four months of this year, compared with 39 across last season.

That gap may be explained by injuries. The forward was returning from an anterior cruciate ligament rupture at the start of last year, then sustained a forearm fracture late in the season.

Both players are available for Flamengo’s meeting with Vitória on Wednesday 22 April, the first leg of the Copa do Brasil fifth phase. Kick-off is 21:30 Brasília time at the Maracanã.

The tie will be broadcast on SporTV and Premiere.
