Galatasaray have moved to sign Burnley midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu, with the 22-year-old set to arrive in Istanbul late tonight to finalise a deal. According to Turkish-Football.com, a breakthrough was reached with the Championship club after productive weekend talks.
The agreement is a season loan worth €3 million, with a €25 million option to buy. That clause becomes an obligation if he reaches 25 appearances over the coming campaign.
Okan Buruk made Ugochukwu his top summer target and plans to use him as the midfield anchor. The Frenchman’s range, durability and positional discipline are seen as key attributes. His status also offers a foreign player classification benefit under current league rules, giving extra flexibility in domestic fixtures.
Ugochukwu came through Rennes before a €27 million move to Chelsea, then later joined Burnley. The switch would add high-level experience to the spine of the side.
The deal ends a quiet window for Galatasaray and underscores a structured route to a permanent signing.
