Levante’s survival in the Primera División signals progress but not a financial windfall, so another restrained transfer window is in prospect. The club aims to be patient, precise and to exploit internal resources, while preparing for significant squad turnover.
According to Superdeporte, debt reduction will continue alongside rising income, keeping business within last summer’s tight margins. After completing Bardeli’s signing, Levante expect a slow market, waiting for opportunities to open up as the window advances, and sales are anticipated.
Luís Castro’s squad is set for major changes, with 10 players officially leaving from 30 June. Almost 40 per cent of the group are out of contract or at the end of loans, and barring a radical shift none are expected to return, despite the hierarchy’s wish to retain more than one.
Héctor Rodas said the market should resemble last year’s, with many loans and expiring deals, and with recruitment dependent on the fair play limit. He noted there were 40 transactions across the first team and B team last season and expects a similar volume, adding they will act surgically and hope for comparable success.
The head of scouting added that conditions are similar, especially financially, but a season of intense negotiations has brought more experience and calm. Even so, he warned it will be just as tough, with promoted clubs boasting healthier finances, targeting similar profiles and led by capable sporting directors, though last season’s experience offers stability.
