Real Madrid will be looking to maintain their perfect start to the 2025/26 La Liga season when they travel to the Ciutat de Valencia to face newly-promoted Levante on Tuesday.
Julian Calero has reported no fresh injury concerns ahead of this crucial home fixture, meaning the manager should have a full squad at his disposal. New signing Alan Matturo remains doubtful due to a leg injury and hasn’t made his debut for the club yet.
Midfielder Jon Ander Olasagasti is pushing for a recall after coming off the bench to play over half an hour in Saturday’s victory against Girona. The Granotes will be hoping their in-form attacking duo of Karl Etta Eyong and Ivan Romero can cause problems for Real Madrid’s defence. Both players have netted three league goals this term.
Trent Alexander-Arnold has been ruled out for six to eight weeks after sustaining a hamstring injury in the fifth minute of last Tuesday’s Champions League meeting with Marseille. The English defender joins Antonio Rudiger and Ferland Mendy on the injury list. Both players are expected to remain out for several weeks.
In positive news, Dean Huijsen will return to the starting lineup. Huijsen has served a one-match suspension following his controversial red card against Real Sociedad. Jude Bellingham and Eduardo Camavinga have both returned from injury layoffs and featured as late substitutes in Saturday’s win over Espanyol, though they’re unlikely to be risked from the start. Arda Guler and Brahim Diaz could come into Alonso’s thinking if he decides to make changes to his attacking lineup.
The newly-promoted side endured a difficult reintroduction to La Liga, losing their opening three matches against Alaves, Barcelona, and Elche. However, they’ve since sparked an upturn in fortunes to take four points from their last two matches, playing out an entertaining 2-2 draw with Real Betis before demolishing nine-man Girona 4-0 at Montilivi. Goals from Carlos Alvarez, Ivan Romero, and Goduine Koyalipou helped secure their first win of the season, moving them out of the relegation zone and into 16th position.
Under new manager Xabi Alonso, Los Blancos have made a flawless start to the season with five consecutive La Liga victories. Their perfect record includes a crucial 2-0 home win against Espanyol on Saturday, with goals from Eder Militao and Kylian Mbappe extending their lead at the top of the table to two points. The capital giants have scored 10 goals and conceded just two in their opening five fixtures, showcasing both their attacking prowess and strong defence.
Levante: Ryan; Toljan, Elgezabal, Moreno, Sanchez; Vencedor, Olasagasti, Rey; Alvarez, Romero, Etta Eyong.
Real Madrid: Courtois; Carvajal, Huijsen, Militao, Carreras; Valverde, Tchouameni; Diaz, Guler, Vinicius; Mbappe.
