Leverkusen closely monitoring former St. Pauli coach Fabian Hürzeler | OneFootball

Bayer 04 Leverkusen are said to be closely monitoring Brighton & Hove Albion coach Fabian Hürzeler for next season.

Sky Germany reports that the 33-year-old is high on the shortlist in case the club decide to part ways with Kasper Hjulmand.

It was already confirmed by Kicker.de today, Monday 23 March, that Hjulmand’s position is under increasing pressure.

There are no internal issues – the relationship between Hjulmand and the bosses is professional and calm

However, the Rhineland club are keeping an eye on options on the market and a fresh start ahead of the 2026-27 season is possible.

As for Hürzeler – who led St. Pauli back to the Bundesliga in 2024 – his future at Brighton is also comes with some doubts. 

His first season in charge guided the Seagulls to an impressive eighth-place finish, and they currently sit tenth this campaign.
