Bayer Leverkusen are preparing another summer shake-up, with senior figures set to make way. Bild reports that Jonas Hofmann and Robert Andrich could be sold as part of the rebuild.
Managing director Simon Rolfes is reportedly dissatisfied with recent performances and is pushing a restructure. The club are seeking a new defensive leader to lift the level and add authority.
Andrich moved from defensive midfield to the centre of defence this season but is said not to have met those demands. The 31-year-old could leave despite a contract running to 2028 if regular minutes are not on offer.
Hofmann is unlikely to face obstacles to an exit and was close to joining 1. FC Union Berlin last summer. He briefly forced his way back into the starting line-up late in the first half of the season but has since fallen out of favour. With his last start almost a month ago, a summer farewell appears highly probable.
Leverkusen also want to open space for youngsters such as Kerim Alajbegovic, Francis Onyeka, Tim Oermann, Jeanuël Belocian, Axel Tape and Montrell Culbreath.
