Leverkusen ‘to sign’ Miguel Gutiérrez as Rolfes says deal not done | OneFootball

Bayer Leverkusen sporting managing director Simon Rolfes says there is no agreement yet for Miguel Gutiérrez, though progress has been made and a deal is close.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Leverkusen look set to complete the signing of the Napoli left-back for around €30 million including bonuses, while Fabrizio Romano says the Spaniard is expected to replace Alejandro Grimaldo, who has joined Atlético Madrid.

“We're making progress regarding the position. In the end, it's about finding the best solution. And if that takes one or two days longer, then so be it. There is nothing to announce yet,” Rolfes said. He was speaking to Kicker.

“We're definitely close, but in the end all aspects have to be viewed in the same way by all parties.”

“If Grimaldo had left last year, Miguel would already have been the top candidate. He is similar to Grimaldo in many aspects,” said Rolfes.
