Leverkusen’s Onyeka ‘to join’ Elversberg on loan | OneFootball

Sky reports that SV Elversberg are close to signing Germany U19 captain Francis Onyeka on loan from Bayer Leverkusen. Leverkusen are prepared to send the teenager out on another temporary move.

Elversberg, newly promoted, also completed the permanent signing of 20-year-old Maurice Krattenmacher from FC Bayern on Friday.

Onyeka is now set to join their bid for survival, with negotiations between the clubs believed to be in the final stages. The switch would offer top-flight experience, as he has yet to play in the Bundesliga.

The 19-year-old impressed on loan at VfL Bochum, scoring eight goals in the 2. Bundesliga.

The report added that Leverkusen intend to extend Onyeka’s contract until 2031. He will captain Germany at this summer’s U19 Euros in Wales.
