Robert Lewandowski etched his name into Champions League history after scoring twice in Barcelona’s emphatic win over Newcastle United.

His goals, coming within five minutes early in the second half, helped turn the match into a rout and secured a new individual milestone.

At 37 years, 6 months and 25 days, the Polish striker is now the oldest player to score a brace in the competition, surpassing Filippo Inzaghi’s long-standing record set in 2010. It’s another remarkable achievement in a career already packed with goals and silverware.

Lewandowski’s double also extended his reach across Europe. He has now scored against 41 different clubs in the Champions League, more than any other player in the competition’s history. That moves him ahead of Lionel Messi, while Cristiano Ronaldo remains close behind in the rankings.

Since joining Barcelona in 2022, Lewandowski has continued to deliver at the highest level. His latest goals take him past club legends Neymar and Rivaldo in Barcelona’s Champions League scoring charts, placing him third on the list. Only Luis Suárez and Messi now sit above him.

Even at this stage of his career, Lewandowski is still breaking records and proving decisive on the biggest stage in European football.
