Liam Cooper has welcomed Harry Gray to Sheffield Wednesday with a three-word message after the 17-year-old completed a season-long loan.
The move was confirmed on Tuesday, placing the forward in League One for 2026/27 after Wednesday’s relegation and the start of a new ownership era. Leeds said in a statement that they will monitor his progress closely.
Gray scored three times in 20 League One outings on a six-month loan at Rotherham United last season during a relegation fight. He and Leeds hope a switch to promotion chasers will bring more chances to build his senior tally.
Cooper, 34, signed a new one-year deal at Hillsborough in June after initially arriving on a short-term contract in November last year. He greeted the teenager with the caption ‘Here he is’.
Gray has already linked up for pre-season, with Wednesday beginning their campaign a week and a half before Leeds. The Owls open with a Carabao Cup tie against Bolton Wanderers on eight August.
Early sessions have tested fitness, including what looked like the bleep test, after which the Leeds loanee was seen dropping to the floor for a deserved rest.
