FLW's Norwich City fan pundit urges Liam Manning to make personnel changes for Bristol City matchup
This article is part of Football League World's 'Terrace Talk' series, which provides personal opinions from our FLW Fan Pundits regarding the latest breaking news, teams, players, managers, potential signings and more…
Prior to the October international break, Liam Manning's Norwich City had struggled, as the Canaries were without a win in their last five league outings.
With only two wins in their opening nine Championship fixtures, a fast turnaround in form is much-needed, but could prove difficult as another tough test against Bristol City is on the horizon.
Despite Norwich being in search of their first win since the back end of August, which came away to Blackburn, the Robins' form hasn't been much better - they are winless in their last four, which makes for an exciting encounter when these two sides meet this coming weekend.
As for the Canaries, Football League World's Norwich City fan pundit, Zeke, has called for Manning to make personnel switches and could well prove the difference in guiding themselves back on track and propelling up the table.
With Manning being rather stern when it comes to his starting XI so far this season, the 40-year-old manager seems to have a recognised starting XI in place. However, FLW's Norwich City fan pundit, Zeke, believes that in order to earn a positive result against Bristol City at the weekend, a freshen up to his side may be needed.
Zeke said: "I would say there's probably a few. I'd put [Lucien] Mahovo in at left back instead of [Kellen] Fisher.
"And then I'd take out [Ante] Crnac because he's not proven himself enough at this stage. He's sort of lacking a bit of confidence. I'd put [Matej] Jurasek instead of him, who has looked alright when he has come on and needs more minutes.
"And the third might be enforced because [Jose] Cordoba is injured, so I imagine that [Jakov] Medic would have to come in.
"So three changes there. I might even want more changes, but at this point we'll just stick with three."
After an underwhelming mid-table finish last season, ending their campaign in 13th position with 57 points on the board. That consistency factor has been absent for the Canaries ever since their play-off campaign the season prior.
With Norwich being a club that has flirted with the idea of promotion to the Premier League over the past few years, that feat seems a way off at this moment in time, not only due to the fact that the club currently sit in 19th, but also because the Norfolk-based side have not strung together back-to-back league victory's since January.
If Manning is to take his team to the next level, churning out wins on a regular basis is what he needs for his players. However, with the Championship arguably being as tough as ever, this season may have to be used to regain some stability within their ranks before thinking about mounting a charge for the top six.
As for the here and now, three points against Bristol City would for sure have Carrow Road bouncing, but it's what comes after that for Manning that really matters. It's an away trip to Pride Park to meet Derby County after their encounter with the Robins, which, on paper, is a big opportunity to restore faith from the fans.
