Liga: Azzedine Ounahi scores his first goal with Gerona FC

Azzedine Ounahi scored his first goal for Gerona FC on Tuesday, September 23 at San Mamés. The Atlas Lion broke the deadlock in the ninth minute against Athletic Bilbao during the sixth round of LaLiga.

The former OM midfielder made a splash in just his third appearance in Catalan colors. Set up by Bryan Gil at the edge of the box, the Moroccan midfielder unleashed a curling shot that found the top right corner past Unai Simon. This strike not only opened Ounahi's account in Spain’s top flight, but also gave Gerona the lead as early as the ninth minute.

The Catalan side, bottom of the league, showed a much brighter start than in their previous outings. Despite a quick equalizer from Mikel Jauregizar early in the second half, Michel Sanchez’s men held on until the end to secure their second point of the season.
