Sara Däbritz scored a brace to fire 10-player Real Madrid to a commanding 4-0 victory over Deportivo La Coruña on matchday four of the Liga F season.

Meanwhile, Clàudia Pina scored her second hat-trick of the season in Barcelona’s successful away trip to Sevilla.

Let’s recap the latest results as clubs continue to push to close the gap on league leaders and reigning champions Barcelona.

Däbritz double inspires latest Real Madrid Liga F win

Real Madrid comfortably dispatched Deportivo La Coruña to record a fourth consecutive victory in all competitions. Caroline Weir and Däbritz grabbed a goal apiece to establish a two-goal lead inside the opening 10 minutes. Real Madrid were dealt a setback when Sheila García was sent off just after the half-hour mark following a dangerous challenge.

Despite being left a player light, Las Blancas continued to enjoy success against the Dépor backline. Däbritz raced through on goal to slot home her second of the game in the opening stages of the second period. Athenea del Castillo got in on the act in stoppage time, steering the ball into the bottom corner to round off a resounding Real Madrid Liga F victory.

Pina grabs headlines with hat-trick

Pina played a starring role in Barcelona’s 5-0 victory over Sevilla at the weekend. The 24-year-old scored with the aid of a deflection to double Barça’s lead after Salma Paralluelo opened the scoring. Vicky López went on to register her third goal of the season in the early stages of the second period. Pina then produced a late showing to cap off the successful away trip. The Spain international coolly dispatched a penalty before she tucked home her third goal in the sixth minute of stoppage time. Having netted six times this term, the forward currently leads the Liga F scoring charts ahead of her Barcelona teammates, Aitana Bonmatí, Ewa Pajor and López.

Atlético lose 100% record, La Real remain unbeaten

Atlético Madrid staged a dramatic turnaround on Thursday to prevail in their Women’s Champions League qualifier against Häcken. However, the after-effects of playing 120 minutes in midweek were felt in Sunday’s clash with Madrid CFF.

Atleti were on course to suffer their first defeat of the season after Allegra Poljak broke the deadlock in the opening stages of the second period. However, they at least managed to salvage a point through Fiamma’s late tap-in. Despite avoiding defeat, there will be some in Atleti’s camp that they failed to win for the first time in Liga F this term.

Like Atleti, Real Sociedad are yet to taste defeat in Liga F this season. La Real maintained their undefeated record with a narrow victory in Saturday’s home clash with Levante. Sensationally, Nerea Eizagirre curled the ball in straight from a corner to open the scoring. Levante’s Érika González netted a 27th-minute penalty, which kept the scoreline level for the majority of the contest. However, just as Levante appeared to be heading towards a valuable point, Eizagirre pounced on a loose ball in the box to guide home a dramatic winner.

Unbreakable defences

Meanwhile, Costa Adeje Tenerife extended their unbeaten start with a comfortable win over Alhama. Tenerife’s Aithiara Carballo Cabrera netted the only in the first half of Sunday’s away meeting with Alhama. Carlota Suárez rifled home a second in the 51st, before Paulina Gramaglia and Aleksandra Zaremba both found the net in stoppage time, with the latter producing an impressive acrobatic effort. At the opposite end of the pitch, Tenerife stood firm against their newly-promoted opponents to seal a fourth consecutive clean sheet.

Tenerife are one of two teams yet to concede this season, along with Badalona, who played out their third goalless draw in four games at the weekend. Badalona were the stronger side in their home meeting with DUX Logroño, but they ultimately had to settle for a familiar result, leaving them in seventh spot with five points their name.

Athletic Club and Eibar’s struggles continue

After finishing in fourth spot last term, Athletic Club will be disappointed to be just one point clear of the bottom two in the early stages of the 2025/26 campaign. Their winless start to the season continued with a 1-1 draw against Espanyol on Saturday. Athletic were dealt a major blow when Bibi was sent off for pulling Paula Arana’s hair, leading to the award of a penalty. Arana stepped up to calmly dispatch the spot-kick against her former club.

To Athletic’s credit, they showed great character to restore parity through Jone Amezaga’s second half effort. However, the draw leaves the Basque side in 13th spot, while Espanyol are a point better off in tenth following a third consecutive draw.

Elsewhere, Granada came from a goal down to take maximum points from their home meeting with Eibar. Sonya Keefe netted her third goal of the season to cancel out Eibar’s first-half opener. Lauri then registered a brace to lead the Andalusian side to their second win of the Liga F season. As a result, Granada are currently sitting in sixth spot, while Eibar are languishing in the drop zone following their third defeat of the campaign.

Best goal of Liga F matchday four

Real Sociedad’s Eizagirre deserves recognition for her spectacular Olimpico goal against Levante. However, we think the best strike of the weekend belongs to Zaremba. The Poland international latched onto a bouncing ball with her back to goal, before she attempted the spectacular, sending her overhead kick beyond Soledad Belotto in the Alhama net.

Badalona 0-0 DUX Logroño
