With Endrick not playing a single minute of football this season, a January exit from Real Madrid appears to be set in stone for the striker.
The 19-year-old Brazilian ended the last season with an injury and made his comeback only in September. However, despite being back and available for eight games now, the youngster has not been called on by Xabi Alonso even once.
As such, everything points at Endrick leaving Real Madrid on loan so as to play regularly, continue his development, and potentially secure a spot in the Brazil squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Earlier this week, reports emerged stating that Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyon had opened talks to sign Endrick on loan.
Now, the French ouftit’s manager, Paulo Fonseca, has hinted at a possible move for the Real Madrid starlet, offering a cryptic response when asked about the rumours.

“I can’t comment on players we didn’t sign yet [smiles]. But for sure when it’s about good players, they’re more than welcome,” Fonseca said about the Endrick links, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
Endrick, for his part, is understood to be open to joining Lyon on loan in the January transfer window.
After all, the 19-year-old would be joining a team that is competing for the Ligue 1 title and playing European football (UEFA Europa League). The fact that Fonseca is a native Portuguese speaker is also seen as an advantage.
Furthermore, the lack of an established striker in the squad means the Real Madrid starlet will have a good chance of securing a spot in the side.
So, it will be interesting to see if the loan move does materialise in January or whether Endrick opts for a different club.
