Lille ‘to line up’ Gladbach loanee Haris Tabaković as Giroud replacement | OneFootball

Lille have placed Haris Tabaković high on their shortlist as they assess options up front. Sport Sport reports that the Borussia Mönchengladbach striker, on loan from TSG Hoffenheim, could replace Olivier Giroud.

Giroud, 39 and in the twilight of his career, remains uncertain in the club’s plans. No decision has been announced on whether he will continue with Lille or retire.

Tabaković fits a similar profile, a centre forward capable of holding the ball up and offering experience.

The 31-year-old has shown his scoring touch in Berlin, Hoffenheim and Mönchengladbach. This season he has 11 goals for the Foals, who are battling relegation.

"No, there are no talks. And if there are no talks, I don't really need to worry. I still have a year left on my contract in Hoffenheim," he told Bild.
