Preston North End beat Sheffield United 3-2 at Bramall Lane on Saturday, rising from 16th to 12th as Liam Lindsay struck twice and Lewis Norman Dobbin netted the eventual winner.
In the fifth minute, Lindsay headed in Jordan Thompson's cross after a corner to put Preston ahead.
The defender doubled the lead with another header from Alfie Devine's delivery (20.).
The Blades hit back when Femi Seriki was fouled by Andrija Vukcevic and Gustavo Hamer converted from the spot (71.).
Moments later, Devine slid Lewis Norman Dobbin through to restore the cushion on a fast break (76.). Patrick Bamford pulled one back from Callum O'Hare's pass late on (82.). Preston then managed six minutes of second half stoppage time to close it out.
The Blades had 69.1% possession and forced 10 corners, yet conceded twice from set pieces. Preston produced six shots on target from 12 attempts.
The Blades drop from 13th to 15th. Next, the Blades visit Derby. Preston host Southampton next.
