Jesse Lingard will not make his Corinthians debut against Flamengo, with his registration still absent from the CBF’s Boletim Informativo Diário.
According to Meu Timao, his work visa has not yet been published in the Diário Oficial da União, so any update is expected only from Monday. He is therefore likely to make his bow on the first of April against Fluminense, after the international break, nearly a month after his announcement.
One complication has been documents he did not bring from the United Kingdom. He has requested them and they remain in process in Brasília so he can obtain a CPF.
The club had hoped to involve him against Chapecoense or at the latest Flamengo at Neo Química Arena, plans now off the table.
While he waits to be registered, Lingard has been undertaking intensive physical work at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava. He also trained alongside Yuri Alberto in attacking drills last week.
Lingard has signed until December 2026, with an automatic extension to the end of 2027 if he meets set targets. A Manchester United academy graduate, he made 235 appearances, scored 35 goals and supplied 21 assists, winning the Europa League, FA Cup, EFL Cup and FA Community Shield.
