Lionel Messi could link up with a Real Madrid legend at Inter Miami | OneFootball

Barcelona icon Lionel Messi could soon call a former member of the midfield ranks at Real Madrid a teammate in the USA.

This comes amid confirmation that Inter Miami have set sights on the signature of Casemiro.

Brazil international Casemiro is for his part set to be available as a free agent this summer, upon the expiration of his contract terms with Premier League giants Manchester United.

A renewal agreement being found between the parties has already been ruled out, with a host of clubs from across Europe and beyond therefore giving consideration to upcoming approaches for the 34-year-old’s signature.

And according to The Athletic, two such suitors come from MLS:

‘Major League Soccer sides Inter Miami and LA Galaxy are interested in signing Casemiro when he leaves Manchester United in the summer.’

In the case of Casemiro joining the former, he would link up with a long-time foe, in the form of eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi, as well as Luis Suárez, and Rodrigo De Paul.
