England have drawn Greece in the first round of their Women’s World Cup play-off.
The Lionesses missed out on automatic qualification to the 2027 edition of the tournament in Brazil after finishing below reigning champions Spain in their qualifying group.
Sarina Wiegman’s side were top for the majority of the qualification stage, but a crushing 4-0 defeat to the Spaniards condemned England to the runners-up spot in group A3 on goal difference.
If they progress past Greece in round one, they will then face off against either Slovakia or Ukraine in round two.
Round one matches are being played in October, with the seeded teams playing the second legs at home. Round two matches take place in November and December.
Republic of Ireland face off against Kazakhstan before a potential tie against either Poland or Belgium, whilst Northern Ireland take on Portugal with either Iceland or Croatia awaiting them if they progress.
Scotland are up against the Czech Republic, with either a clash against Sweden or Lithuania in round two, and Wales take on Albania with either Romania or Norway to come if they progress.
