Liverpool thrashed Qarabag 6-0 in the UEFA Champions League at Anfield on Wednesday evening, sealing their spot in the round of 16.
Liverpool suffered a huge injury blow early on, with Jeremie Frimpong coming off inside the third minute.
The visitors registered the game’s first shot on target, with the in-form Camilo Duran stinging the palms of Alisson Becker.
Liverpool quickly went on attack on the other end, culminating in Hugo Ekitike firing wide after a fast break.
Alexis Mac Allister put Liverpool ahead, heading home despite Mateusz Kochalski’s best effort to keep it out.
Florian Wirtz doubled the Reds’ lead after 20 minutes, combining with Ekitike, before smashing the ball home.
After multiple attempts from the hosts failed to hit the target, Kochalski made a fortuitous save to deny Cody Gakpo from close range.
Mohamed Salah, making his 80th appearance for the club in the competition, made it 3-0 on 50 minutes, curling a free-kick into the top corner after Dominic Szoboszlai rolled the ball into his path.
The Hungarian has now become the second Liverpool player to score or assist in six consecutive UCL games after Salah previously achieved that feat.
Kochalski produced another superb stop, outstretching his arms to parry Gakpo’s shot away, but moments later, Ekitike extended the hosts’ advantage.
Receiving a long pass from Virgil van Dijk, the Frenchman raced through on goal, before picking out the bottom corner.
Moments later, McAllister bagged his second of the night, rounding the goalkeeper and slotting home.
Federico Chiesa completed the scoring on the stroke of full-time, as Liverpool ran out 6-0 winners.
The Reds finished the league-phase in third, collecting 18 points from eight games.
