In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey stated that Liverpool are among the clubs hoping to land Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes. It is understood that the Reds would have to compete with Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona in the race to sign the Brazilian talent this summer.
Guimaraes had another solid campaign at the Tyneside club as he was responsible for producing a run of impressive displays for them in the middle of the park. The Brazilian talent found the back of the net nine times and earned eight assists in 41 matches for the Magpies in the previous campaign across all fronts.
The 28-year-old is one of the most consistent central midfielders in the Premier League. Therefore, Liverpool would do well to acquire his services later this year.
His current contract at St. James’ Park will run out in the summer of 2028, which could make it tough for the Reds to sign him on a cut-price deal this off-season.

Guimaraes is a good tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when required and is a tidy passer as well.
The Brazilian sensation can strike the ball with power from long range and has got the vision to create some inviting chances for his teammates to score. Guimaraes is a good dribbler as well and has got a wealth of experience in the Premier League. He mainly functions as a box-to-box midfielder but can also serve as a holding midfielder if required.
We can expect Guimaraes to bring more quality and depth to Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola’s frontline. He is good enough to challenge for a regular starting place at the Merseyside club in the coming seasons.
At 28, Guimaraes has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a good fit for Liverpool’s needs this summer. He will also help the Reds challenge for some major trophies over the next few years. Thus, Iraola would be wise to get a deal done for him soon.
